Terms of Service

Use OCUPIE to run displays. Don't abuse it, don't use it to attack others, and pay your bill. We'll keep the service running in good faith; if we can't, you can cancel any time and walk away with your data.

By creating an account or using OCUPIE ("the service", "we", "us") you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, don't use the service.

OCUPIE is a web application for building and operating wall-mounted dashboards — clocks, weather, calendars, photos, and similar widgets — typically rendered on inexpensive display hardware such as a Raspberry Pi. You configure dashboards in the browser; connected devices render them.

• You must be at least 13 years old to create an account.
• You must provide accurate information and keep it current.
• You're responsible for the security of your credentials and for any activity under your account.
• Notify us promptly if you suspect unauthorized access.

Don't:

• Abuse, overload, or attempt to breach the service.
• Display or proxy content that infringes third-party intellectual property, is unlawful in your jurisdiction, or violates the privacy or rights of others.
• Use OCUPIE to attack, scan, or exfiltrate data from third parties.
• Resell or rebrand the service without a written agreement.

We may suspend or terminate access if your use threatens the service, other users, or third parties.

• Paid plans are billed through Paddle (our Merchant of Record) on a monthly or annual cadence and auto-renew until cancelled.
• You can cancel at any time from the billing portal. Your plan remains active until the end of the current paid period.
• We don't issue pro-rata credits for partial months. Refunds are at our discretion, typically for clear service failures.
• Prices and taxes are shown at checkout. VAT is added where applicable.

We store your dashboard configuration, device metadata, and account details. We do not store or index the third-party data you proxy through widgets (for example, the body of your calendar feed or the pixels of your photo album) beyond short-lived caches needed to deliver it to your displays.

You retain ownership of your content. You grant us the limited rights necessary to operate the service on your behalf — storing, transmitting, and rendering it to devices you control.

You may close your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate your account for non-payment, abuse, or violation of these terms. On termination we'll delete your data in line with our privacy policy.

The service is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We don't warrant that the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or suitable for any specific use case.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, our aggregate liability arising out of or related to the service is capped at the fees you paid us in the twelve (12) months before the claim. We won't be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages.

We may update these terms as the service evolves. Material changes will be communicated by email or in-app notice. Continued use after the change takes effect constitutes acceptance.

These terms are governed by the laws of Denmark, without regard to conflict-of-laws principles. Disputes will be resolved in the courts of Copenhagen unless required otherwise by mandatory consumer law in your country of residence.
